I am a Senior Lecturer in the Mathematical Sciences Institute of the Australian National University.

My research is motivated by the mathematics of quantum field theory, particularly conformal field theory, which includes topics in operator algebras, subfactors, geometric field theories, quantum algebra and tensor categories, vertex operator algebras, and complex function theory. I am particularly interested in analytic questions arising out of the interactions between these mathematical fields which are facilitated by QFT. For more information, including papers and talks, see my research page.

I am co-organising a conference The Mathematics of Conformal Field Theory II in July 2021, as a part of the MSI's Special Year in Mathematical Physics. Registration is now open for in-person and online participants.

Previously, I was an MSI Fellow at the ANU before taking up a continuing position. Before that, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2015-2018, and a Visiting Researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in Bonn, Germany from 2014-2016. I completed my Ph.D. at UC Berkeley in 2014 under the supervision of Vaughan Jones.
